You only need to put underscores on either side of the text like this: _italic_
How to put a strikethrough on text in WhatsApp
To be able to put a strikethrough, you only have to put a tilde on both sides of the text: ~strikethrough~
How to monospace text in WhatsApp
Whenever you want to monospace a certain word just put three backticks on the right side and left side of the text like this: “`monospace“`

There’s a quicker way to format your text in WhatsApp. You only need to write your text, then hold and select it and tap three dots (shown below) to choose how you want to format it.
