Are you experiencing problems with WhatsApp right now? Don’t fret, your phone or internet connection is not acting up. Rather, WhatsApp is the one acting up as the platform is facing a downtime.

The downtime is characterized by failing to send or receive messages in the messaging app. When Techcrunch reached out to the WhatsApp Team regarding this issue, they said:

We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.

Update: the issue has now been solved so you can now send and receive WhatsApp messages. The WhatsApp Team said the following as result of fixing the problem:

Earlier today, an internal update made to our WhatsApp servers caused some people to have trouble sending messages.
