WhatsApp to launch a feature to mute chat notifications forever

If you have lately been finding WhatsApp group chat notifications annoying, then you will be glad to know that WhatsApp is working on a feature to give you peace.

According to Wabetainfo, the WhatsApp team is working on a feature called Always that enables users to mute WhatsApp chat notifications forever instead of just a year.

What’s the first thing you do when someone adds you in a group, and you aren’t interested but you cannot left? You surely mute the group for 1 year.
WhatsApp is now planning, with the 2.20.197.3 update, to replace the 1 year option with Always, in order to always silent notifications from chats and groups:

Right now WhatsApp users can only mute chat notifications for 8 hours, a week and a year. When the year elapses, the muting will be automatically be removed and chat notifications will start to appear in the phone’s notification panel. Of course, the user can mute WhatsApp chats for a year again.
